I have been completely unable to get in contact with anyone about this issue, despite having called different departments 5+ times. No one seems to want to follow up on what may have happened to his items. I am left to assume that they were stolen and that no one has any plans to remedy or acknowledge the situation.
My mother was a patient in this nursing home. I found the staff to always be patient and friendly. I went every day of the week to see her seven days a week. I visited my mom at different times of the day.
Cold Spring Hills
I have to say that the Physical and Occupational Therapists were excellent. I had two amazing therapistswho were not only good at their jobs but wonderful, caring people. Everything else, except one nurse, was awful. They were terribly understaffed and you could press the call button andwait for hours until someone showed up to help.
New York Attorney General Letitia James sued Cold Spring Hills Center for Nursing Rehabilitation in Woodbury for allegedly diverting over $22.6 million in Medicaid and Medicare funds to the owners' pockets. The company is owned in part by Bernard Fuchs, who did not respond for a request for comment.

My uncle has been here a week or so and everyone has been so nice and helpful. Each community has a certified number of beds that are available. THEY DO NOT MONITOR THE DRUGS "THEY PRESCRIBE" PATIENTS FOR SIDE EFFECTS OR ADVERSE REACTIONS!!! - THEY ARE HORRIBLY UNDERSTAFFED AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE PATIENTS!!!! THEY DO NOT LISTEN TO FAMILY AND WE WILL NOT stop until I report to every agency responsible to insure no person SUFFERS AT THE HANDS OF THESE INCOMPETENT PERSONS! "An individual who knowingly abuses or neglects a patient is guilty of a Class C felony. An individual who purposefully abuses or neglects a patient is quilty of a Class D felony."
Among other allegations, the lawsuit states that one resident was at the facility for five months and received just three showers. My mother had Alzheimer and often didn't understand what was being said. They asked her random questions and took whatever answer she gave with out verifying. After all meals the tables were never wiped down or the hands of the residents cleaned.

He was incoherent and struggling to speak could not open his eyes. Immediately I asked, he was just sleeping you didnt give him anything? They then told me he was given halodol which should not be given to anyone with heart condition. This facility is disgusting, has an onvious feval odor and inadequate staff who obviously are not concerned with the health of your loved ones.
It's Christmas Eve and my father is being mistreated and might have possibly died tonight if my mother didn't go. My mother is having a panic attack, my daughter is traumatized, and I'm sitting here helpless and heartbroken and full of anxiety because I do not know who else to speak to. Our compassionate teams of Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapists understand the challenges you face when your loved one has a fall, an illness, or surgery.
Cold Spring Hills Center For Nursing And Rehabilitation in Woodbury - Nursing Home
I wish I were just an angry daughter that’s overreacting but I was told by other staff members that I am not “making enough noise”. One even gave me the contact information for nursing director boss and said please don’t tell anyone. He has no knowledge of my fathers condition stated “ I am not medical I do not deal with diagnosis, I deal with what is presented to me”. He then stated “ if you feel your fathers life is in danger, you can transfer him to another facility”. Had she not been there and advocated for him I don’t know what would have happened. COLD SPRINGS HILLS CTR FOR NURSING AND REHAB is a "Medicare-certified" nursing home which means that this nursing home participated in Medicare Part A .
My mom was dying and died a few days later in the hospital. All they cared about was keeping her there for more money. Husband has been in sub acute rehab since July supposedly to get physical therapy for an amputation. Physical therapy not given anywhere near consistently or adequately to the point where he now has a contracture in the leg and can't get a prosthesis until they fix it. He was given a brace that they don't put on him and when they do its incorrect, medication wrong EVERY day to the point where there mistakes could have life threatening consequences, wound care not done correctly.
The nursing aid staffing hours per resident per day is higher than the state average. The nursing home is in the bottom half of facilities in terms of LPN staffing hours per resident per day. The LPN staffing hours per resident per day is slightly higher than the state average.
Additionally, a Physical Therapist is available an average of 8.4 minutes per day per resident . Cold Spring Hills was very nice, and the care was very good. The room was of a nice size and was well kept. They can have some newer equipment because some of them were older, but it is a pleasant place to be. At night the nurses and aides ignored my Mom's call light. She would need help to use the bathroom ,and her light could be on for two hours without them coming once. During the week days the staff seemed more attentive, but I feel horrible leaving my Mom there. My Father, unfortunately, passed away at Cold Spring Hills Ctr For Nrsg & Rehab, Woodbury NY. The facility sent a sympathy card to my family, speaking about the wrong person... Also, the patients are drugged up to the point where they are sleeping all day and eventually kick the can because the staff doesn't want to be bothered. Half of the facility has dirty carpets that smell and the staff struggle w/speaking English.
Please, do not do it to your family member, let them pass in peace in the comfort of their own home around the people they LOVE. The staff is friendly, caring and attentive with my mother. They ask questions and listen to your suggestions. Some residents have decorated and added they personal touches in decoration. UPR delivers superior and cost-effective health care and accepts all forms of payment including government reimbursements, third party insurance, private pay and many managed care programs.
